- The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has recently outlined a strategic plan that emphasizes public-private collaboration to enhance AI adoption in healthcare, focusing on innovation, ethical technology development, accessibility, and workforce development (Nextgov/FCW).
NGOs Driving AI for Healthcare:
- AI for Good Foundation: This NGO leverages AI to tackle urgent global challenges, including healthcare. Their initiatives include AI audits to ensure ethical AI use and support for projects aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (AI for Good Foundation).
- AI4ALL: While broad in scope, AI4ALL works towards increasing diversity and inclusion in AI, with implications for healthcare by creating a more diverse pool of professionals who could contribute to health-related AI research (Omdena).
Research and Ethical Considerations:
- There’s a significant focus on the ethical deployment of AI in healthcare.
